I’m sure James Talerico will make a fine Senator, and I sincerely hope he succeeds in flipping Texas for the Democrats. But I'm sad that Jasmine Crockett did not win!
Hi I just want to respectfully point out that Crockett has ties to Israel and takes a lot of money from corporate PACs, while Talarico takes no money at all from corporate PACs and has no ties to Israel and has actively spoken out against the genocide. I believe this is the reason Talarico won.
Hey Jude, it’s possible that he hasn’t taken their money because they haven’t offered it because he hasn’t been in any kind of National spotlight or position yet
Of course, I would love to think he will still not do it, and he will be true to his set of values that he espouses.
I’d like to see all of my favorite Democrats and all of our representatives stop taking AIPAC money.
He has pledged not to take PAC money and he has stayed true to this. There’s a great Instagram account called @stocking_the_capitol that covers this, and looks at the stocks that politicians hold (Talarico doesn’t hold any stocks).
I was going to share something like this. Thank you, Jude, for sharing that. We can't vote for those who stand for genocide and apartheid. I will note that the Party analysis, which has sort of leaked but not been officially released, also showed that Kamala Harris lost because of her support for genocide, not because she was a black woman.
Jasmine is great at standing up to Trump but when it comes to issues that affect peoples quality of life she sounds a little too centerist dem. Recent example was her response to the current war. She didn’t start with the immorality of war, the fact that Iran was indeed negotiating in good faith and also has been proven over and over to NOT be stockpiling nuclear material. She didn’t start with how Americans can’t afford food, rent, medical care etc…
She started with the talking point that Trump should have gone through congress first. I don’t care who gives permission for war-I want politicians who oppose it.
Yep, I want to live in an America like that as well. I also want to be part of a human species that is a restorative force on this planet. Got a long ways to go on many fronts.
Agree and as a BIG FAN of Jasmine, I share the saddness, and also hope she keeps her seat in Congress after not winning the Senate seat - as she is such an important voice.
I also like how James T may shift MAGA Christians and flip the state?
despite how NOT 'Christian' tRump is has loyalist will follow him off the cliff against their own best interest.
I feel exactly like this, she is so important to the National dialogue and her energy is unlike anything else we have.
I think Talarico will do well to help bring out regular Christians to vote and hear his message . Something they can relate to, instead of that Christian nationalism.
But Jasmine is unique! Is there any other way she could get back in the dialogue?
This post for the "Hall of Fame", Starhawk. I want to print it off, frame it, and put it up in my living room. I'll settle for it living in my heart.
I too am sad when people vote for any other reason than– they think the person is the best candidate.
All that stuff about "strategic" voting is just elites trying to manipulate us, or our own limitations of imagination building a prison around our potential to change and grow as a society.
My favourite singer, Ferron, hinted at this, in the song "It Won't Take Long", by saying: "For as we let ourselves be bought, we're gonna let ourselves be free". Ultimately, the choice is ours.
To me, voting "with the heart" is actually also "voting with the mind". It is all one. Here's the song. I betcha everyone on here will love it. If you don't know Ferron, explore!
I read some analysis of her campaign: she did not invest in a ground game much and she said publicly that she did not need to reach out beyond her base. I don’t think that will fly in a red state. And i agree with the a above statement: gender and race should not be primary factor. I think morals, values, and class are far more important. AOC’s message is solid on those three things. I believe she does not take PAC money but i think i need to look that up.
I’m so on your page Starhawk philosophically and politically etc because everything you do and say resonates with me. I’m happy Mr Talerico won though of course I hear you regarding Jasmine. Here’s hoping for the best. Things have to change and fast as hell. Blessed be.
Oh me too! I think Talarico might have a better Senate chance in Texas, but I really want her back in the House! I guess there are worse things than having two great candidates in a race (in TEXAS, no less), but still..

Great news
And to see our country stop partnering with Israel in any military way, including funding.
I agree. And I LOVE her. But when she recently voted in favor of more money for Israel, I was so incredibly disappointed. Stunned by disbelief.
AIPAC money has poisoned the democrats

absolutely! you speak what is in my heart 🩵🌏💚
I think messaging played a big role.

So maybe James T can move the Gospel to kindness?
imagine that
He's said he won't take corporate money inc in the future.

Look at that fuckin retard.
This resonates so deeply with me. I was so disappointed. She is tried and true, a voice for the people.

Agreed!
Agreed! Thank you for speaking this truth.
I agree, like them both but Crockett is my kind of person I want to see in our government. She is strong and brave
