Wow! So much I agree with here. When you say "The first rule of framing is never to buy into the opposition's frame," that's exactly a point made in George Lakoff's Don't Think of an Elephant, which is all about framing in political movements-- highly recommended! One thing the alt-right is good at is framing the opposition, or us, better than we frame our own messages, and that needs to change. I also loved the section on shaming. People will leave movements if they feel shamed and that is the opposite of building a movement. The moderates and radicals need to unite and not shame one another, but try to see life from the other's perspective.

"COVID epidemic"? It was and still is a pandemic. Please refrain from past-tensing it, many of us still need to mask, immuno-compromised, disabled folks or our partners, and far too many among the so-called left, and even anarchists, have proven themselves to be ableists who have abandoned us. And that hurts even more from people who should and could know better.
